Amity has over 10 years of extensive experience as a Group Exercise Specialist and Fitness Trainer at numerous Fitness Facilities including Crunch, BioDesign, and Equinox Fitness Clubs where she trained such celebrities as Lou Diamond Phillips and Joan Allen. Amity's specialties include working with the 60+ population at the Mount Sinai Hospital Geriatric Clinic and the Center for Lifetime Wellness where she inspired many to increase strength, mobility and independent function in a senior population. She has been certified by the Cooper Institute for Aerobic Exercise, AFAA as a Group Exercise Instructor with credit hours in Senior Fitness, and Equinox Fitness Clubs in Personal Training, Pre and Post Natal Instructing, Active Isolation Stretching and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) Stretching. Her professional accomplishments include giving numerous lectures on exercise related topics in addition to being interviewed on television and radio. Amity was featured in the PBS series "Second Opinion" in their episode on Osteoporosis (click the link below for more information), Swim Power 2 instructional video, and national television commercials for OLN, ESPN, McDonald's, Bally's Total Fitness, and the Goodwill Games. She has appeared in almost every women's fitness magazine including the cover of Runner's World, Sports Illustrated for Women, Marie Claire, Muscle Media, Energy, Fitness, FIT, Triathlete, and Prevention demonstrating proper exercise techniques in swimming, biking, running, weight lifting, yoga and pilates as an athlete, fitness model and freelance writer. Amity's athletic background includes a long list of accomplishments. She was a division I All-American swimmer at The University of California at Berkeley, qualified for the Olympic Trials in swimming and placed in the top ten at the US Pro/Elite National Championships as a professional triathlete. She has been the overall winner at more than five Reebok and Danskin Women's Triathlon Races throughout the country. Amity still finds time to compete around the country as a top female triathlete even though she is currently pursuing a Physician Assistant degree at the University of California at Davis to enhance her knowledge and ability to help people stay healthy and fit for a lifetime.
